Sinds 1 mei hebben ook Nederlandse arrestatieteams de beschikking over de taser gun, waarmee ze stroomstoten van 50.000 volt kunnen uitdelen. Al na een paar weken was het eerste succesje geboekt met het taseren en arresteren van de beruchte serie-inbreker Marcel de K. Maar Amnesty International zet vraagtekens bij het gebruik van het stroomstootwapen. Het gaat namelijk wel eens mis. Vliegt er iemand in brand, valt een naakte, ongewapende man te pletter of wordt een 14-jarige meisje in haar hoofd geraakt. Toch blijft de Amerikaanse komiek Stephen Colbert de taser gun verdedigen.
