Newsweek: ‘Nederland beter land dan Verenigde Staten’
Goed en slecht nieuws. Nederland staat in de Top 10 van Beste Landen ter Wereld (op nummer 8) van het Amerikaanse tijdschrift Newsweek. Dat is slecht vergeleken met de toppers Finland, Zwitserland en Zweden, maar een stuk beter dan de Verenigde Staten (11de).
Die elfde plaats van de VS zint Stephen Colbert natuurlijk niet. “Finland? Are you kidding me? Its coat of arms is a lion stabbing itself in the head because it lives in Finland.”

Opvallend is dat Nederland relatief laag scoort in de categorieën Quality of life (14de) en Economic dynamism (17de), maar weer punten wint in de categorie Political environment (3de!). Blijkt die hele Geert Wilders toch niet zo slecht voor het imago van Nederland.
