“I’m clearly not an Israeli agent. It’s crazy. I am a Dutch politician who works for Holland and its citizens,” zegt Wilders. “But I’m a friend of Israel, and I’m not afraid to say it. Because I openly speak in favor of Israel, people who don’t like me make up such stuff. The Iranian press determined that I was a Mossad agent. The Jordanians call me a Shin Bet officer. It’s nonsense.”
In weerwil van het feit dat Israël al jaren meedoet aan het Eurovisie Songfestival, raadt Wilders het hen af te streven naar deelname aan de Europese Unie. “The EU has always been on the Palestinians side. Israel has many friends in Europe, but Europe is not Israel’s friend.” En zo is het maar net.
