De speech van George W. Bush op de USS Abraham Lincoln (Perzische Golf, 2003) is legendarisch, niet het minst door [[popup file=”2010-11/bush_mission_accomplished.jpg” description=”het beeld” align=”inline” ]] van de trotse president voor een spandoek met de woorden Mission Accomplished. Tijdens zijn rondje langs de pers ter promotie van zijn biografie Decision Points vroeg NBC’s Matt Lauer aan Bush hoe hij erop terugkeek. De ex-president: “Als ik het over mocht doen, had ik erop gezet: Good Going Men And Women, Great Mission, Or Something Like That.” Ondertussen bekent Bush ook dat hij ooit de goudvis van zijn zus vergiftigde met wodka en legt hij zijn ruzie met Kanye West bij: “I’m not a hater.” Filmpje!
