Tat my name on you so I know it’s real/Tat my fucking name on you so I know it’s real. Dat is de aanbeveling die rapper Drake (Toronto, 1986) doet in het nummer Free Spirit. Een fan nam het advies letterlijk en liet zijn naam op haar voorhoofd zetten. Discussie in de VS nu.
Want had tattoo artist Kevin Campbell deze (nog) anonieme fan wel voor het leven mogen verminken? Tegen Vice Magazine zei hij: “My whole deal with people wanting completely outrageous and potentially life-ruining tattoos is this: I’ll ask them three times if they really think it’s a good idea, I tell them what the potential consequences of getting a tattoo on their face might be, and after that, the bad decision is on them. I believe that people get the tattoos that they deserve.“
Drake zelf vindt dat Campbell verantwoordelijk is. Hij noemt hem in onderstaand filmpje een ‘fucking asshole’. Rechtstreeks tegen Campbell: “And you should lose your job and should never do tattoos again and I don’t fuck with you. And if I ever see you, I’m a fuck you up.“
